About
Who…
Hello and welcome!
I’m Melanie, collector, treasure hunter, and owner of Lilly D. Vintage. Born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, I grew up watching MGM musicals and listening to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Johnny Cash. I developed a love of collecting as a young child while scouring antique malls and garage sales with my grandmother, Lillian.
My love of vintage clothing and accessories came at an early age. My mother, a former Miss Oklahoma (1953), had a closet full of treasures. As a child, I played dress up in her fanciest clothes and put on performances (using that term loosely) in our living room. My favorite thing was a full length, pink chiffon nightgown and matching ostrich feather cuffed robe with a rhinestone belt buckle (can you imagine?). My stage career never really took off, but my love for vintage has lived on.
Over the years I’ve collected hundreds of garments, piles of costume jewelry, and yards of vintage textiles, and as a result, I started Lilly D. Vintage. Vintage fashion is one-part wearable art, two-parts historical preservation, and a powerful way to express our authentic selves all rolled into one.
I want to encourage other women to experience the inspirational and transformative dynamic that vintage fashion provides. It’s more than just clothes; it’s how you feel when you’re in the clothes.
Thanks for visiting my store, I’m excited to share these wonderful pieces with you.
XOXO-
Mel
What...
Lilly D. Vintage is an online women’s boutique offering a selection of vintage pieces predominately from the '60s and '70s.
In addition to curated pieces, you will find one-of-a-kind items made from vintage textiles and jewelry. I worked with a seamstress to design and create our reimagined textile bags and eyeglass cases. These pieces were lovingly crafted out of vintage curtains, remnants from estate sales, and garments that could not be revived. The jewelry is made in house, by me, and is engineered from vintage pieces that have been reassembled with a modern flare while still maintaining their post-mid century allure.
Our pieces are unique, bold and beautiful, just like you!
Why…
Our goal is to preserve, present, and encourage self-expression. Just like us, each piece has a unique spirit, a colorful history, and a raw beauty. My desire is to encourage women to discover their authentic selves through the magic of vintage fashion. Everyone deserves to feel special and to be seen.
At Lilly D. Vintage we want to reduce our global footprint. Through our beautiful wardrobe pieces, as well as our in-house creations, we hope to give garments, accessories, jewelry and textiles a second life out in the world and out of the landfills.
